Kodak Tri-X Pan (type 127)
Tri-X Pan would be one of the most recent films in 127 format. First introduced in 1940s, it is still produced by Kodak Alaris as 400TX but the emulsion was redesigned in 2007 and is now different from the original Tri-X with reduced silver content. At ISO/ASA 400 it is a high-speed film even by modern standards.
The roll was developed in HC-110 dilution B at 18 °C for 9½ minutes. The recommended development time of 8½ was extended by one minute to increase contrast. There are a lot of empty and overlapped frames on the roll. Either the film advance mechanism in the camera was broken or the photographer was inexperienced in using a half-frame camera.
Cars make the main subjects on this roll. Four images are from what appears a race in open-cockpit roadsters, the type that were popular in 1950s and 1960s when they competed in Le Mans. The first image is of a small car parked on a street. The registration number is GNC 418. This numbering scheme was in use in Great Britain from 1932 to 1963.
